So with the British Monarchy valued at a cool £44 billion I thought it might be a good idea to see what that works out at in terms of revenue contribution by each member of the Royal Household. Apparently Buckingham Palace has 1,200 FT staff (450 of whom are paid for by the taxpayer), Sandringham a further 100 , Balmoral a further 50 FTE’s and 50-100 part-time staff. Windsor is a little harder to find data on but if you include The Royal Collection with a further 450 staff you are getting close to the 2,000 meaning each employee contributes £22 million to the UK economy – now to my mind that’s one hell of a contribution.
